National Merit Essay
So, I'm going through old files on my computer to clean stuff up and I found this gem. This is the closing paragraph of my National Merit Essay, last revised September 16, 2002. I had a really great plan for my life:
Next year I plan to study the Classics and Business Management at college. Hopefully my high school experiences with clerical and organizational responsibilities will have prepared me for my course of study. During my undergraduate years I hope to spend a semester or two abroad in Australia. After graduating, I plan to go to law school and eventually practice in the area of estate planning.
Funny, I didn't do a single thing I wanted to do, nor do I really plan on it...

That's very impressive. Let me see if I can find the closing paragraph of my National Merit essay...
Currently I plan to become a doctor. However, I feel that my unique mixture of compassion, eagerness, dedication, and perseverance provides me the opportunity to become anything. Regardless of what I choose to do, I know that it will encompass all of my skills and interests, and that I will succeed in all of my endeavors.
I guess I'm still on track. But who knows, maybe in 5 years I'll be doing something completely different.
I think K-Lai should become a career soldier.
Funny, your college plans sound much like my college reality. And my plans were NOTHING like my reality.
I am going to break the trend here.
My college plans were exactly like my college reality. They consisted of going to OU and getting a degree in meteorology.
