About Us
The mission of Engineers Without Borders TM - USA (EWB-USA) student chapter is to partner with disadvantaged communities to improve their quality of life through implementation of environmentally, equitable, and economically sustainable engineering projects, while developing internationally responsible engineering students.
EWB-OU
OU's EWB chapter was formed in the fall of 2005 through the efforts of several students and the vision of faculty members. By partnering students, faculty, and communities around the globe, OU students can apply engineering skills first-hand to innovative projects. Our goal is to use this partnership to improve conditions in the local community.
EWB-USA
Engineers Without Borders began in May 2001 when a group of students from the University of Colorado completed a water project in San Pablo, Belize. This project joined faculty, students, and the San Pablo community to work together, was successful and became the model for EWB. "EWB-USA is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life." (Source: www.ewb-usa.org)
