Chem-E-Car is main event at AIChE regional and national conferences and one of the best ways to represent the Chemical Engineering program at the University of Oklahoma. We have been very successful the past couple years in competition. Last March one of our teams, Team Blackout, used a car designed with and iodine clock reaction to win third place at the regional competition in Omaha to give them an automatic bid to represent OU at the national competition in Philadelphia this November!
Chem-E-Car is a fun and educational way to work in a team of fellow engineers, get to know your peers, enhance your resume, and provide impressive responses to questions when you go to interview for jobs and internships. We are always recruiting and always looking for new ideas. This is NOT limited to any major. In fact, a diverse team is often a more effective team. Teams are typically formed in early to mid-fall in order to fully prepare a good car for the competition in March.
